- No data is ever sent to any server
- No accounts, no sign-in, no tracking
- No third-party analytics or advertising
1. Overview
Clippy ("the App") is a macOS clipboard manager developed by Bee Wijaya. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
The short answer: Clippy collects no personal information whatsoever. The App is designed to function entirely offline, on your device, without any network access.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email address, Apple ID, device identifiers)
- The content of your clipboard entries
- Usage statistics or analytics
- Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers
- Location data
- Any data from third-party services
3. How Your Clipboard Data Is Stored
All clipboard history captured by Clippy is stored locally on your Mac only, using macOS standard storage mechanisms. This data never leaves your device through the App.
You remain in full control of your data at all times:
- Delete individual entries directly within the App
- Clear your entire history by quitting and removing the App
- Clippy automatically trims old entries when your history exceeds 150 items
4. Network Access
Clippy requires no internet connection to function. The App does not make any network requests. There are no servers, no cloud sync, and no remote endpoints involved in any part of the App's operation.
5. Third-Party Services
Clippy does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The App is entirely self-contained.
6. Children's Privacy
Clippy does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected by the App, there is no risk of children's data being processed.
7. macOS Permissions
Clippy requests permission to monitor your clipboard. This permission is used solely to detect when you copy new content and store it locally in your history. This data is never transmitted outside your device.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated revision date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
